The simple definition is “previously owned”. However, it is commonly used to interchangeably describe both vintage and antique jewelry.
“Antique” is defined as a valuable that is over 100 years old. “Vintage” is less than 100 years old but a minimum of 50 years old. Vintage jewelry is highly desired because of the craftsmanship and flair it can bring to fashion, antique jewelry on the other hand can be considered so valuable it is rarely worn.
